A "Life-Line" Helpline for Dementia Carers
While everyone's experience of caring is different, what many dementia carers have in common is that they feel socially isolated, invisible and unheard.
When feeling overwhelmed, confused or scared, many don't have anyone to share their feelings with, and those who do reach out to family and friends for emotional support often end-up feeling misunderstood.
While conventional counselling can help, not everyone needs or wants counselling, and there are many valid reasons why individuals my not want to commit to therapy when facing situations causing them deep distress. Thus, we are not offerring a conventional counselling service. We offer a compassionate listening ear that you will be able to acceess when it suits you.
You can access our counselling sessions online from your home, and you can choose:
Whether you'd like to book a session as a 'one-off', or whether you would like to meet regularly, and how frequently
Whether you would like to talk to her via chat, audio or video call
How long you would like the meetings to last
As a trained listener, the counsellor will:
Provide a safe and confidential space where you will be able to share all of your emotions, without fear of judgement
Listen to you empathetically, with the aim of making you feel heard, seen, and understood
Help you unravel conflicting emotions when facing difficult decisions
If you would like to find out more, or book a session, please fill-in a 'self-referral form'. Alternatively, you can call me or text 07719913001, or send an email through the 'get in touch' button.
